    Selection and Installation of Molded Case Circuit Breaker

    1. Application place and selection principle of plastic case circuit breaker:

    1. High temperature places: ironmaking, casting, boiler room and other places, should choose the pure electromagnetic type (but not too high) which is not affected by temperature. For thermodynamic-electromagnetic type, when the temperature is between 40 60 C, it should be used to reduce capacity, and the temperature above 60 can not be used.

    2. Low temperature places: This refers to places below - 5 C, such as refrigeration warehouses, cryogenic chambers, open decks of ships, etc. Low temperature will dry up lubricants and make insulators brittle. Therefore, users should order low temperature moulded case circuit breakers.

    3. Wet place: refers to wet places such as chemical plants, fish processing plants, etc., should be installed in the waterproof box plastic case circuit breaker, not in direct contact with water should be used wet tropical plastic case circuit breaker.

    4. Dusty places: such as cement factories and textile factories, plastic case circuit breakers can be loaded into dustproof boxes for use.

    5. Coal mines and other mines: 660 V voltage grade plastic case circuit breaker can be selected and placed in explosion-proof box.

    6. Ships: Common civil transport ships should adopt three-proof (moisture-proof, mildew-proof, salt fog-proof) and a certain level of vibration, turbulence and inclination resistant marine plastic case circuit breaker with a reference temperature of 45 C. Warships, in addition to the same requirements as civilian ships (vibration resistance, turbulence, inclination higher), but also required to withstand first-class impact, the reference temperature is 50 C.

    7. Electric locomotive: similar to marine, but not necessarily three-proof.

    8. In places with corrosive gases and salt spray, such as chemical factories, pharmaceutical factories and petroleum refineries, corrosion-proof plastic case circuit breakers should be used and packed into waterproof boxes.

    Installation of Molded Case Circuit Breakers:

    Vertical installation is the basic installation method for all samples or instructions of plastic case circuit breakers at home and abroad.

    Whether it can be installed horizontally or horizontally? The test results show that there is little influence on overload protection when transversely or horizontally mounted thermo-electromagnetic plastic case circuit breakers are installed. The error of the test value for the reaction spring of the electromagnet of the instantaneous release (related to gravity) is only 5%-10%.

    The conclusion is that it can be installed horizontally or horizontally.

    For pure electromagnetic circuit breaker, i.e. hydraulic (oil cup) plastic case circuit breaker, its overload and short-circuit protection use the same tripper. Its over-current delay or transient is closely related to the center of gravity of the core in the tubing and the liquid level of silicone oil, which acts as a damper (delay), and these are also related to the installation angle. The test results show that the action value (current value) of 2In should be increased by 20% when installed horizontally, reduced by 20% when installed horizontally, and reduced by 12% when installed horizontally at 45 degrees forward. Therefore, pure electromagnetic circuit breakers should be installed vertically. If they must be installed horizontally or horizontally, the current value should be determined according to the correction coefficient provided by the sample or data of the manufacturer.
